Redwood Inn is a country bar and restaurant with two specialties, perch and broasted chicken. It is a small bar with large picture windows. There is one large screen TV in the bar area and behind the bar is Packer memorabilia with trophies, signed footballs, jerseys, and autographed pictures like the one with the three amigos (Brett Favre, Mark Chumara, and Frank Winters). It is always a very busy place and on the weekends you can expect to wait an hour or more. The one great thing is in July they went SMOKE FREE. All the food is prepared by the owner’s mother; it is nothing fancy but the portions are huge and homemade.
When you enter, the bartender will ask you if would like to order food, he or she will give you a menu and later a server comes with a notepad to take your order. When your table is ready someone will come to tell you where your table is located. All the tables have extra sour cream, extra butter, a large squeeze bottle filled with homemade tartar sauce, and a bowl of coleslaw. I ordered the perch plate for $10.50 with baked, you have your choice of fries or baked potato. The food was hot and my perch was very large in size, not greasy, but with a lot of flavor, and instead of one baked potato they give you two large ones. The potatoes are baked perfectly - very well done and soft, the rye bread is placed under everything. The coleslaw is shredded freshly and is creamy and so delicious. The food is definitely worth the wait.
