Since I'm destroying renovating my kitchen, my living room is covered floor to ceiling with plastic, and well plaster too. This makes it VERY difficult to cozy up on my VERY comfy couch in my VERY comfy jammies with a VERY yummy cocktail and enjoy the evening. What's a girl to do? Go to Plae Bistro, I say! (Truthfully, one of my girlfriends suggested the place, and I'm happy she did.)
I didn't know too much about Plae Bistro; just that it's located in the Bellevue area and I thought it was mainly a food restaurant type place - I was way off. While they do have a great lunch and dinner menu to offer, I was more interested in the spirited beverage selection. Plae Bistro is a quaint locale that is rectangular in shape. When you walk in the front doors you immediately enter the dining room with plenty of tables to cover a dinner crowd. Towards the back is the bar. The lights are on low and innocuous music is in the background so as to not interfere with quiet conversation. The bar part is cute and consists of dark wood. It's not my couch and I'm not wearing my jammies but this scene makes you forget all that. My partner in crime and I hopped on back to the bar and took some seats. They have a martini and wine list for your viewing pleasure. It was nice to see that they offer more than a few choices for wines. There is even an organic red blend that sounded interesting. The least expensive wine by the glass was $5.75 and the prices went up to the $9 range. Unfortunately, I wasn't in the mood for wine. But fortunately, the martini and drink menu was right there too. They have about 20 signature martinis, a few mojitos choices and some Plae favorites. I picked the Pink Panther for $8. It's made with vodka, and not just "vodka"
but X-Rated Vodka! I'm such a sucker. As I was saying, x-rated vodka, citrus vodka, sour, lemonade and a splash of grenadine for that bright pink color. It was very sweet and very tasty. My girlfriend ordered the Pama Mojito for $8. This mojito consists of what it sounds like, a classic mojito with some pomegranate liqueur for a little twist. Plae Bistro also has bottled beer and a few on tap too. Bud, Bud Light, Corona, Hacker Pschorr, Killians Red, Mich Ultra, Miller Lite, New Castle and O'douls are your picks for bottled beer. Tappers include, Stella, Leinie's Red, New Glarus and some fire hydrant one. I couldn't make it out, my apologies. Under the Plae favorites there was this Jack Daniels one with triple sec, orange juice and lemonade. I love Jack. I love to shoot Jack mostly but I was definitely intrigued by this "Lynchburg Lemonade," I'll have to try that one next time.
Since going out somewhat regularly in Green Bay, I'm finding more outdoor patio places than I thought there was. Add Plae Bistro to this ever growing list. Man, I can't wait for summer time. Maybe the groundhog was mistaken about seeing his shadow??

Plae Bistro is a Bellevue area restaurant which has a delightful contemporary décor with a nice size bar and an outside patio with outdoor seating to the side of the building. Smooth jazz resonates throughout the restaurant giving it a warm upbeat atmosphere and an added bonus is their smoke free policy.
I ordered the Ahi BLT for $10.99 with your choice of pasta salad, cottage cheese, fresh fruit, or blue corn chips. Ahi tuna was seared rare and served on a toasted whole wheat bread topped with roasted garlic mayo, lettuce, tomato, and applewood bacon. For my side I chose the Mediterranean pasta salad. Hats off to their executive chef – the tuna was perfectly done and the combination of the tuna with the applewood bacon and garlic mayo made for a divine sandwich. The pasta was evenly coated with the Mediterranean dressing and was very satisfying. The service was pleasant and efficient. They also stock a full bar which is continuously open and has a nice wine and martini selections.
