Last Friday some girls and I were in Appleton doing a little shopping. On the way home, my girlfriend suggested we stop in Wrightstown for a drink. What's in Wrightstown you ask? Well, A LOT of farms and a really cool dawg house. Jaimie's Dawg House, to be exact. I've never been to a really small town bar before. Please don't be offended when I say that Green Bay is the smallest town whose bars I've been to. So when my girlfriend said that Wrightstown is smaller than Green Bay by a couple of zero's, I was more than interested in checking it out.
I can't really tell you if they have free parking around there, I parked in an open lot and with a few other cars. I did not see any signs telling me no. And I did not receive a ticket.
As we walked up the steps and opened the door to Jamie's Dawg House, we were met with more than a few surprised stares, followed by warm smiles telling us to sit down at the bar. We did as we were told. I ordered two bud lights on tap. The bartender perfectly poured two beers in the shorty glasses. Those shorties are so freakin' cute. I know no one wants to hear about beer being cute, I'm sorry, but in those glasses they are! And the best part… they were only $.75. I know, right! Wrightstown just got renamed to my-kinda-town. Cash is the only accepted method of payment and there is no ATM on site. Make sure you have at least 5 bucks to throw back some cold ones. On draught they have Bud Light, Miller Lite, Busch Light, and Bud. There are also a few more brands of the bottled kind which sell for $2.50. There is no wine but a full liquor bar. In the middle of the bar is a pool table and directly to the side is a dart board. The entire place is fairly small but it doesn't lack amenities. Right next to the darts are a couple arcade games and an internet jukebox. But no one was playing, the locals were completely engrossed in Chick Flick Friday. It was explained to me that Friday nights at Jamie's are Lifetime Movie nights. You know the kind of movies where the newly single mom is battling some kind of crazy cancer while struggling to raise her lesbian daughter, who gets impregnated during the time she's in treatment for an eating disorder. 
Oh yeah, and the son is over seas fighting a war he doesn't want to. I think I covered all the tough subjects… Not to worry, it all ends happy. The mom's cancer goes into remission and she found the love of her life. The daughter overcomes her eating disorder completely for her unborn child and during lamaze class falls in love with the teacher. The son comes homes without injury and loves being an uncle. Everyone is happy and the baby is raised with love. Lifetime should call me, huh?
Jaimie's Dawg House was a fun night filled with very cheap beer and gracious regulars.
