Before I totally get spring fever and wanna be outside 24/7, I wanted to check out Broadway Lounge. Some friends told me that they have great drink specials and it's dark and cozy, perfect for hanging out and losing track of time. Broadway Lounge is located, you guessed it, on Broadway Street in the Historic Broadway District. They are closed Mondays but are open the rest of the week for your lunch, dinner and cocktails needs. There is also a free parking lot right outside. When my partner in crime and I first walked in, we noticed it WAS dark. When I go to bars like that it's so easy for me to lose track of time. Man, my friends know me so well…Good thing this place is called Broadway Lounge and not Broadway Get Up and Go.
The interior of this establishment looked kinda old school. There was exposed brink on the surrounding walls, and an older model jukebox and arcade games. Combine all this with the 80's blastin' away for that extra chill vibe in the air and Broadway Lounge has the perfect setting to just sit back and relax. My girlfriend and I chose to sit at one of the big booths that lined the wall instead of the bar, who doesn't love big booths? On tap they serve Hi Life, Miller Lite, Stella, Bud Light, and Leinies. They also have happy hour specials from 3PM to 6PM Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. You can get a domestic pint for $2.50 or a cute little tapper (I love those lil' guys) for $1. Not in the mood for beer, it's cool, they also carry a few choices for wines and they have a fully
stocked liquor bar to get your drink on. My friends were also right about the cheap drinks thing too. When you first walk in you see a big C-shaped bar and booths lining the opposite wall, but what I didn't see initially was a whole other side. There is another side that's a little separate from the bar side. It's more of a supper club feel with loads of tables away from the yahoos drinking. Yahoos meaning me.
Broadway Lounge reminded me of C-Street atmosphere wise. Cheep drinks, a relaxed setting, dark and cozy atmosphere and good company, what more could you ask for?
