By Patricia Summerfield March 4, 2010 I went to dine at Twin Oaks golf course; it is situated in Denmark which is located on the border of East Green Bay. The first thing you walk into is their bar lounge area which contains a very large circular bar with some extra tables for seating. To the side is a large beautiful fieldstone fireplace with a nice big fire burning in it. The fireplace had a wooden mantel adorned with silk plants with an oil painting hanging above. The room then opens up into the dining area with very large over sized windows overlooking onto the outside patio and golf course. The overhead lighting is done in a white frosted contemporary style and the tables were preset with rolled silverware in paper napkins. Twin Oaks lounge/restaurant is casual and cozy with a very festive atmosphere. That evening I ordered their Lake Perch for $13.95, it comes with creamed coleslaw, rye bread, and a choice of waffle fried potatoes, baked potato, or baby reds. I chose the waffle fried potatoes.
My server was extremely outgoing and friendly. And throughout my meal made sure I was not in need of anything. My Perch Plate looked enticing, the lake perch is fresh, not frozen and hand battered. My plate contained four extra large butterfly fillets; the batter was nice and light with a delightful buttery flavor. They were tender mouth watering and scrumptious. The waffle fries were made from fresh potatoes. They were delicious with the fresh flavor of potatoes coming through and cooked to a nice brown color and were not greasy. The slice of buttered rye bread was very fresh with a nice flavor and lying on top was a nice slice of raw white onion. The side of coleslaw was also very fresh and creamy with a good crunchy texture to it. The only thing missing during my Twin Oaks experience was green grass and sunny warm temperatures, only a couple more months to go.
