As you walk in Not By Bread Alone Restaurant/Bakery the first thing I noticed are all the wonderful aromas that assail one senses - fresh breads baking and homemade soups simmering. The interior has a warm appeal to it with colored walls of bright reds and yellows with high beamed ceilings, slate floors, pictures of Italian landscapes. Surrounding the restaurant are very large floor to ceiling picture windows with white café curtains, many dark wood tables with a sitting area in the middle of the dining area that includes a leather sofa and two comfy chairs with a galore of cooking magazines encased in a huge glass wooden case against the wall. To the left of the register are long glass cases filled with their wonderful homemade pasta salads, desserts, and their breads, which are all made from scratch.

Not By Bread Alone has the printed menu placed above the register on the back wall; you order and pay for your food and then they call out your number when it is ready for you to pick up. I ordered the Asian Salmon Salad for $8.49 mixed with an Asian dressing. The salad consisted of mixed greens, pea pods, sliced red peppers, slivered almonds, with a whole piece of cold grilled marinated salmon. My dressing was evenly mixed with a nice flavor of ginger; the salmon was pleasing and paired well with the dressing and vegetables. Included with my salad were two slices of their French bread with a pat of butter, the bread was delicious It was dense with a slight crunchiness on the outside. They also have an area to help yourself to water, lemon wedges, sugar, napkins, cream, and in another area are plastic bins for your dirty dishes.
