The Ten-O-One Club is located near downtown East Green Bay, and has been renovated into a beautiful pub and restaurant. The building is tastefully done with much attention to detail with rich dark woodwork, exposed brick walls, beautifully redone hardwood flooring and ceramic tiles. Ceiling fans and silk green plants are located throughout the building. The tables have nice laminated tops and modern frosted votive candles for decoration. Next to the hostess stand is an eye-catching huge statue of a chubby chef which blends in nicely with the style of decor. The atmosphere is fun and cozy with jazzy blues playing in the background and all the staff was happily bustling about. I also appreciated the fact that the restaurant was nice and toasty warm inside and not chilly, especially in these winter months.
There was a 20 minute wait so I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and was pleasantly surprised that I was poured a full glass not just 1/4full. The wine also had a nice smooth flavor to it. After about the accorded time, I was seated to my table and my server then introduced himself as he brought me the menu and ice water which was served in a plastic glass with a straw in it..... Since I'm destroying renovating my kitchen, my living room is covered floor to ceiling with plastic, and well plaster too. This makes it VERY difficult to cozy up on my VERY comfy couch in my VERY comfy jammies with a VERY yummy cocktail and enjoy the evening. What's a girl to do? Go to Plae Bistro, I say! (Truthfully, one of my girlfriends suggested the place, and I'm happy she did.)
I didn't know too much about Plae Bistro; just that it's located in the Bellevue area and I thought it was mainly a food restaurant type place - I was way off. While they do have a great lunch and dinner menu to offer, I was more interested in the spirited beverage selection. Plae Bistro is a quaint locale that is rectangular in shape. When you walk in the front doors you immediately enter the dining room with plenty of tables to cover a dinner crowd. Towards the back is the bar. The lights are on low and innocuous music is in the background so as to not interfere with quiet conversation. The bar part is cute and consists of dark wood. It's not my couch and I'm not wearing my jammies but this scene makes you forget all that.... Read the Rest of the Plae Bistro Bar Review in Green Bay, WI |

Tonight I was looking for a more laid back atmosphere and maybe a little bit of an adventure in checking out a music venue deep in downtown Green Bay's nightlife. The place is called Chefusion and the band playing tonight was ZIJI, a contemporary jazz band from De Pere. Now as many of you readers know, I am somewhat of an indie rock aficionado, but I do have an open mind for all sorts of music, especially jazz. In fact, my collection of vinyl records started off with a few of Ahmad Jamal's albums. Needless to say, I found a gateway to truly appreciate ZIJI. Walking into Chefusion kind of reminded me of the old classic movies from the 1940s. You go upstairs to the bar and it's very classy; bartenders in tuxedo attire were shaking up martinis and the patrons were enjoying the spirits. Tucked away in a corner on stage was ZIJI. Tonight they were playing as a duo, with Christine Salerno on keyboards and John Gibson on upright bass. The mood in the place was very warm. I got a drink and grabbed a single table just a little further back from the band.... Read the rest of the ZIJI band review here

pole dancing
1. n.
sexually stimulating erotic dancing and writhing around a metal pole, onstage, before a largely male audience. : I didn't have the body for a career in pole dancing, so I became a house painter.
And that definition is from the Slang Dictionary on Dictionary.com. A more accurate slang definition should read as follows:
1. N. and V.
Drunk girls and guys making fools of themselves attempting to dance around a metal pole in front of a male and female audience. : I didn't have the body for a career in pole dancing, but I went to On the Rocks, had a few cocktails and pole danced my little heart out anyway.

For Visitors and Tourists in the Green Bay Area |
Green Bay is best known for their professional football team, “The Green Bay Packers.” The Packer Hall of Fame and the recently remodeled football stadium with its attached atrium are both great tourist attractions. There are many restaurants in Lambeau Field's atrium such as Green Bay's famous chili served at Chili Johns restaurants. Many of Green Bay's restaurants are located near the Lambeau Field stadium; for example there is the legendary Brett Favre's Restaurant and Steakhouse and Green Bay's original Kroll's restaurants which are famous for their buttery burgers and yummy chili - a must do if it your first visit to the area.
Other attractions are the Bay Beach Amusement Park, which still has unbelievable bargain prices and classic rides. You can also race around the go cart course and try your hand at mini-golf located right across the street from Bay Beach, or stop by the nearby Wildlife Sanctuary to feed the ducks, and don't miss out on some of the local restaurants nearby. For Mexican fare there is Maria's restaurant, which has great authentic food. The city also has many beautiful parks and a beautiful botanical garden which is continuously growing. Even though Green Bay is not a huge metropolitan city, it does offer a large variety of unique entrepreneur restaurants throughout the city, besides the usual restaurant food chains.
East De Pere and West De Pere make up a charming little city on the eastern border of Green Bay. It is a historic city located on the Fox River with many quaint restaurants. Also situated on the river is St. Norbert, a private college with a beautiful campus. St. Norbert has their own theatre and the school's production companies put on many great plays and musicals throughout the year. The city has many graceful old homes, clothing boutiques, and a one hundred year old family owned chocolate store which is a local staple.
Another option for theater, concerts, or shows with big names as well as local production companies is the gorgeous Weidner Center located on the University of Green Bay's campus near the Bay, the Resch Center near Lambeau Field, and the beautifully refurbished Meyer Theater in downtown Green Bay which is conveniently located in the middle of Green Bay's night life and some of Green Bay's finest restaurants. |
